We are seeking a Retail Strategy Manager to fill a new position on the Domestic Parks Long Term Retail Planning team.  This group has responsibility for developing strategic financial plans to drive growth and profitability while delivering on the Guest experience, partnering to develop long-term goals, objectives, and resource plans for the business, and driving major strategic projects that significantly impact results.

This is a Full-Time role

What You Will Do:

In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Retail Strategy.  The focus of your team will be generating long-term growth and significant value through key strategic projects and initiatives that drive business growth and impacts how the business operates.  The candidate will bring strong analytical, strategic, and creative thinking, and project management skills to an evolving portfolio of projects.

Business Development:

  • Support the development of major strategic merchandise projects including analysis and recommendation development.  Work will include a focus on revenue growth and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Business Development work incorporates all aspects of projects as assigned and includes leading all portions of key projects, participating in task teams driving work, generating key analysis, identification of issues and opportunities, partnering to develop solutions and recommendations, and developing presentations to share information.

  • Develop key partnerships with the Sites and other merchandise functions to identify opportunities.

  • Develop updates on the status of projects.

Strategic Perspectives:

  • Through your work and in partnership with the larger team, contribute to the development of new and revised of merchandise objectives and strategies.

  • Participate in projects and meetings not led by the Business Improvement team.  Generate analysis and a strategic perspective on partners opportunities and issues, as requested.

  • Review historical performance related to key initiatives to improve decision-making and reduce risks.

  • Support the development of goals, objectives, and strategies for merchandise.

Industry and Guest Insight:

  • Study and report on non-product retail and theme park industry trends.  Share insight with partners and utilize information to develop potential opportunities and risks.

  • Develop a strong understanding of Guest behavior, seeking to identify changes and new information.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience in analytical or development roles.

  • Natural curiosity and the ability to deal with ambiguity.

  • Proven creativity in identifying business opportunities and addressing issues.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop comparisons from multiple sources.

  • Excellent communication and relationship skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work within a complex, matrix organization and find creative solutions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative fields
