Job Summary:

The Risk Management department is responsible for the processing and resolution of Walt Disney World Parks & Resorts’ Workers Compensation and Guest Claims.

What You Will Do:

As a Senior Data Claims Assistant, you will make an impact to the Risk Management Department by supporting our claims teams with accurate data management and timely processing of documents. The Senior Data Claims Assistant is the point person for their area of focus, serving as a role model for the team and exemplifies Disney culture.

This Senior Data Claims Assistant will focus on document management and support for the Workers Compensation team.

Daily responsibilities may include:

  • Monitoring of shared mailboxes for guest or cast related communications, taking action to ensure communications and documents are preserved and routed appropriately
  • Conversion of physical mail to electronic documents, categorizing documents and updating metadata appropriately
  • Reviewing data provided by in-park Cast through Confidential Reports of Injury, ensuring accuracy by correcting data and updating incident codes to enable accurate business insights reporting
  • Creating and updating claims upon request  
  • Maintaining access to operational records, including first aid logs, adding documentation to claims files as requested
  • Providing data quality assurance oversight
  • Engaging in ad-hoc data clean-up efforts
  • Serving as point of contact for system process inquiries and represent the Data Quality Team on projects
  • Training peers on system and coding requirements
  • Participating in initiatives and projects to meet department goals and objectives

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to professionally handle confidential information with an understanding of the importance of brand awareness
  • Demonstrated ability to make consistent, precise decisions in repetitive tasks, while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong relationship building skills, including the ability to work with all levels of cast members
  • Capability to work under deadline pressures and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Effective communicator with excellent oral/written communication and presentation, time management, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter who excels in a team environment and who challenges the status quo by continually searching for opportunities to improve internal processes
  • Confirmed ability to solve problems creatively
  • Familiarity with Walt Disney World property
  • Completed high school degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience within Disney Risk Management Services
  • Experience with Claims Administration Reporting System (CARS)
  • Experience with SharePoint, Yoda or other document management tools
  • Experience with Business Objects or other data querying tools
  • Familiarity with worker compensation or guest claims processes and terminology
