SUMMARY

Hulu’s Subscriber Growth team is seeking a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager that sits at the intersection of Marketing and Product Management. As a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager at Hulu, you will own Hulu’s SEO strategy and roadmap to maximize organic traffic growth for hulu.com landing pages and be responsible for KPIs around search ranking, traffic, and sign up performance. This position will work directly with the Marketing, Product and Engineering teams to define the SEO vision, advocate for and implement best practices, and highlight new opportunities for enhancements with Hulu’s changing content library, feature additions, and the broader evolving web landscape. The right person for this role must be a seasoned SEO strategist, have excellent technical and communication skills, and possess the ability to work with cross functional teams and external partners. You must also have a strong  passion for data driven decisions and balance SEO needs with the broader business strategy and initiatives. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Be the subject matter expert and strategist for all things SEO on hulu.com (both web and mobile web platforms), with a focus on landing pages for subscriber acquisition.

  • Define our team's set of SEO best practices and socialize them across the business and technology teams. Embed SEO as standard operating procedure across Marketing campaigns and be the go-to person for putting these best practices into action.

  • Build a prioritized roadmap and backlog for technical SEO. Own the roadmap’s implementation and goals, and work alongside Product and Engineering to ship enhancements.

  • Increase quality organic traffic to the main site and editorial blog to drive awareness and new user acquisition using best-in-class strategy and executing on day-to-day optimization.

  • Evangelize and train developers and marketing partners on SEO best practices and operating principles.

  • Work with marketing and content teams across Disney to help maximize the visibility of key Hulu content in search engine ranking, both on hulu.com and other Disney websites.

  • Monitor and continually report on key ranking metrics and performance trends.

  • Track industry trends and key crawler updates from Google, Yahoo, and Bing to ensure Hulu stays ahead of industry changes.

  • Manage relationships with external partners to deliver on key projects related to content SEO, reporting and recommendations to Hulu.

WHAT TO BRING

  • 6+ years of SEO experience within large enterprise required.

  • Proven track record of developing and driving SEO strategies for subscription-based businesses.

  • Expert at keyword research, analysis and benchmarking against other leading video providers.

  • Expert knowledge of Google Search Console and equivalent SEO systems.

  • Previous experience collaborating cross-functionally internally and with external partners to launch features in an agile environment.

  • Direct experience in detailed planning and prioritization of backlogs and road mapping feature requests.

  • High comfort level in analytics and generating actionable business insights from data trends.

  • Must live within a commute distance to Santa Monica, CA. Role requires someone onsite 4+ days a week.

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Good understanding of the video streaming service industry and main players in this space.

  • Experience working within or closely with a marketing function

  • Experience optimizing cross-channel marketing efficiencies (SEM, Display, etc.)

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.


The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $91,900 to $126,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
